Indoor Practices
Indoor practices are currently being held at FRA Lower School Gym; Wednesdays at 7:00pm. Please bring $10 to pay coach Jose each practice. We are registered to play in the Fairfview Winter Jam, Indoor Tournament, Jan. 26-28 held in Franklin's indoor soccer arena.
The '97 Hurricanes are a select soccer team from Nashville, Tennessee. The Harpeth Futbol Club is our home club, with facilities located in West Nashville/Bellevue, TN. Our club has two squads; "Black" and "White". The Black Squad is the more competitive squad and enters tournaments at the highest level of competition offered. Our White squad typically enters tournaments at the intermediate level of competition. Both squads are comprised of excellent athletes. Each player was selected for the team from a large number of area players through a "try-out" process held once a year. The boys on the team are a diverse group in terms of race, religion, and ethnicity; attending public school, private school, and home school. The players' families come from all walks of life, some live in Nashville, others travel significant distance to play for our club. Many of the boys play other sports as well; but as "select" players they give soccer priority over other sports.
Black Squad: Overall Record: 14 Wins, 4 Losses, 4 Draws
Undefeated in Friendly Match Play
Played in 5 Tournaments
2 Tournament Championships
2 Tournament Finalist
1 Tournament 3rd Place
White Squad: Overall Record: 9 Wins, 8 Losses, 5 Draws
Interested in Trying Out for Our Team?
The Harpeth Futbol Club holds tryouts for all age groups of select soccer usually in late May or early June each year. However, given that we are a highly competitive soccer team, the '97 Hurricanes Boys team will allow tryouts for highly skilled 9 and 10 year-old boys during and between seasons. If you are interested in trying out, please contact the manager of the team, Ed Qualls at DoctorQualls@aol.com
